CINCH and the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association sign a five-year partnership agreement
DENVER, Colo. (January 16, 2015) – CINCH JEANS & SHIRTS is proud to announce that it is the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s (NIRA) official apparel sponsor through 2019. This marks CINCH’s first partnership with an intercollegiate association, and adds to the portfolio of youth rodeo sponsorships that includes the International Finals Youth Rodeo and the National High School Rodeo Association, whose partnership was extended last year.
NIRA is a non-profit organization with Washington headquarters and includes membership at 137 schools and universities. Since 1949, NIRA has been committed to preserving western heritage through collegiate rodeo and now boasts membership in excess of 3,500 students. Commissioner Roger Walters states that NIRA is dedicated to student success both in and out of the rodeo arena. And with the help of CINCH, he is confident college rodeo will be able to make this a reality for many more students and rodeo programs. “It is a true blessing to have sponsors, but to be selected by the good people at CINCH is tremendous. CINCH is making a real effort to support collegiate rodeo, for which we are honored.”
CINCH is no stranger to advancing rodeo, including endorsement deals with dozens of professional rodeo athletes, many of whom began their professional career during or following their college rodeo career. CINCH’s commitment to youth rodeo increased dramatically six years ago with the sponsorship of the NHSRA, and CINCH continues to believe that fostering young talent and leadership is important for the western industry. Sponsorship Manager Meg Scales states, “College rodeo bridges the gap between where rodeo starts and where professional rodeo goes. Whether our college athletes go on to compete in the professional ranks or impact their communities as a leaders, we have no doubt this move will grow rodeo as we promote our future western lifestyle ambassadors.”
CINCH’s commitment will support the eleven NIRA regions and the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR), including the addition of the “CINCH TO WIN” cash bonus program. CINCH will also assist with the judges program, and provide fashion pieces for the annual CNFR style show where proceeds benefit scholastic and leadership development for student athletes.
